I don’t have the wisdom to say anything useful on this, still being numb from yesterday’s gun tragedy in Newtown, Connecticut, so I will simply provide someone else’s wisdom about how to talk to young children about violence. This pdf is from the National Association of School Psychologists.

Not to go all emo on ya, but yesterday was a somber one for me before the intertubes exploded around 11 AM, as it was the 28th anniversary of my mother’s death. Some things always seem fresh. And our somber weekend will continue, as we go this afternoon to the memorial service of a 25 year old. (A 25 year old can still be a kid, and this one left parents and a sister.)

Life is good. Hug someone you love today. And tomorrow. And ….
