Sunday diversion: the Hallelujah chorus

no, not that one
The music ministry in my parish does wonderful music. Including, adding in the past year, an adaptation of Leonard Cohen’s always haunting Hallelujah. I drove my wife a little bonkers a while back after using The Google and playing 6 or 7 different versions in a row on YouTube. (Try it; it’s another Time Suck.) So I had to click on this link from Andrew Sullivan yesterday with an … er … unusual rendition, using … er … unconventional instruments.

I don’t get the physics … can this even be real?? I guess so (‘cuz I saw it on the intertubes). It took me a while to ‘get it’ (as far as the melody), and it helps if you are familiar with the song. Blew me away!

Wonderful fodder for Lent.
